We are excited to announce our gallery is expanding to a new permanent location in Collingwood, Melbourne in October 2022.
Originally designed as a home by renowned Australian architect Tom Kovacs in the early 2000’s, we are currently renovating the double story warehouse space located in Bedford St, to a site-specific gallery. Nicknamed the “Whitehouse”, the space contains one large exhibition space, one intimate mezzanine level for smaller shows and site specific installations as well as a stockroom viewing area. Dramatic curved architectural features, double height ceilings, rendered brick feature walls and skylights create abundant natural light for art viewing and a creative ambience unseen in a Melbourne gallery.
Magma Galleries will launch in October with a group exhibition of its represented artists. We cannot wait to welcome you to our new home and build our community further in Melbourne’s creative hub of Collingwood.
